The Christmas tree "trunk" |
I stayed close to home this morning and worked. I did household chores, worked on district work AND worked on two new poems. I don't usually go out in the afternoon; I do most of my running the streets in the morning. The afternoon has a different feel to it and more importantly, I get to window shop a little more, because if you wait until after lunch, more things are open and for a longer period of time.
Grooming the gravel. |
I actually was searching for the hair salon that Jason's wife recommended. It's all the way at the end of Rue Verdun, which sounds like a long walk, but actually isn't. Oh Lordy, what have I subjected myself to? This guy speaks English, but I get the feeling he is French to the bone marrow. He sort of threw up his hands in an, "I have no idea what I am going to do with THIS mess," attitude, which softened considerably when I told him I was in HIS hands and whatever he thought best for me, well, let's do it. Please pray for me. My appointment is next Tuesday morning at 11:00.
Kitchen store window. Sorry for the glare. |
More stores are putting out Christmas displays, but they are usually very elegant and understated. I spent some time in the kitchen shop-sort of like a Sur La Table....and of course I wanted everything in there. I bought a fork. It will be my lighthearted way to make my scrambled eggs extra special.
How cute is this? Almost makes you want to have a little girl, doesn't it?
I could just swoon...... |
Preparations continue to dress Place Gambetta for the holidays. The huts are all installed, and the Christmas tree is being assembled. It's a great big version of the aluminum Christmas trees that those of us of a certain age, and those of us of a certain geographical area (Baltimore) will remember so fondly.
