The violet was the most intense I have ever seen. |
It has been a good day thus far for getting things done. I have recharged my Carte Orange, so I can keep using my cell phone for another month. I purchased my train ticket to Paris for the 28th--and 1st class was only 5 Euros more than 2nd, so I am going 1st class...wow! Never thought I would say that. The TVG through Montpelier and pulls into Gare de Lyon in Paris 5 hours later. I love train travel.
Then I did my marketing, had lunch at a cafeteria--not like any cafeteria I have ever been to in the US, believe me, and at the bus stop on the way back into centre ville, I struck up a conversation with some old guy. I think he needed someone to talk to. I run into that a lot, and apparently look like a sympathetic listener. He's originally from Morocco, and has been in France a little over a year. He was quite loquacious, and told me that it was good for me to force myself to speak. (If I could ever get a word in) He is right, of course. He himself speaks three languages, Spanish, Arabic (3 different dialects) and now French. He thought I might be Alsatian because of my blonde hair? Blonde? Blonde? It is really time for this REDHEAD to get a new paint job. He asked me for coffee and more conversation. He quite pointedly informed me that he'd been divorced for years. I think I suspect why.
Funny weather today, but I captured a rainbow with my camera. A good sign, non? But now, it is time for me to get some work done, both for the school district, and for me.
